Heroes’ Fund Donating $30,000 to Jerry Behrens Foundation

The Heroes’ Fund at the Wyoming Medical Center Foundation will soon be coming to an end, but their founding mission of supporting first responders and their families will live on through their $30,000 donation to the Jerry Behrens Foundation at Casper Orthopedics.

As the Heroes’ Fund concludes, the funds raised and gifted to their cause through the kindness and generosity of the community will be donated to the Jerry Behrens Foundation, which will be used to continue to provide support to injured, wounded and ill first responders, service members and their families.

“While it is sad to see the Heroes’ Fund go, the money they raised will continue to support their founding cause through the Jerry Behrens Foundation,” says Charlie Robertson, CEO of Casper Orthopedics. “We are proud to be a part of this generous community who has been committed to showing support for our local heroes throughout the years.”

A committee formed in 2018, the Heroes’ Fund provided funds and support to the families of Natrona County firefighters, emergency medical services workers and law enforcement officers in times of need following a serious injury or death of a first responder. The committee raised money through fundraisers and donations to help support their cause.

The Jerry Behrens Foundation was established to serve military, law enforcement and fire and rescue personnel in honor of the lifelong achievements and commitment to community service demonstrated by Jerome A. Behrens, M.D., co-founder of Casper Orthopedics. Casper Orthopedics funds the administrative cost of services so that all financial contributions to the foundation go directly to its beneficiaries.
