Notice of a Cyber Incident at Casper Orthopedics

Casper Orthopedics (“Casper”) is notifying its community of a recent cybersecurity incident experienced by Casper. The privacy and security of the information in Casper’s care is of the utmost importance, and Casper provides this notice to explain what happened, the actions it has taken, and resources available to its community.

On May 23, 2026, Casper discovered a cybersecurity incident that impacted Casper’s technological systems. Immediately upon identifying the incident, Casper launched an investigation into the incident, and engaged third-party cybersecurity experts to assess, contain, and remediate the incident. Law enforcement was also notified. This investigation remains ongoing.

Although Casper has found no evidence that any patient information in its care has been specifically misused, Casper is providing this notice out of an abundance of caution because certain patient information may have been involved in the incident. Upon completion of Casper’s investigation, a formal notice will be mailed to all identified patients whose information may have been impacted by this incident. Impacted individuals will additionally receive complimentary credit monitoring services and identity theft protection services. Guidance on how to take advantage of these complementary services will be provided in letters mailed.  

Additionally, Casper recommends that individuals should promptly report any fraudulent activity or suspected identity theft to proper law enforcement authorities, including the police and their state’s attorney general. Individuals may also wish to review the tips provided by the Federal Trade Commission (“FTC”) on fraud alerts, security/credit freezes, and steps that they can take to avoid identity theft. The security and privacy of the information contained within its systems is a top priority for Casper. In response to this incident, Casper has taken steps to bolster its network security. Further, Casper continues working to improve its cybersecurity policies, procedures, and protocols to help minimize the likelihood of this type of incident from occurring again.
